Vera Bradley Coupon Code: TRAVEL TIPS: FESTIVAL GUIDE

Spring brings weekends full of festivals, and we’re kicking off the season with one of the largest parties in the nation. Over 48,000 attendees flock to Austin, Texas for 10 days of activities spanning from music performances to interactive panels of speakers (also known as: South by Southwest ). Members of Vera Bradley’s Social and Digital teams are making the trek to Texas to experience #SXSW2016. They’re taking us behind-the-scenes as they prepare for the first big festival of the year, covering how to enjoy the scene, navigate the extensive lineup of acts and stay sane through it all. Save, bookmark or Pin this survival guide for your own festival adventure this season.
Festival Survival Guide
Go Early, Stay Late
Pick the act or panel you really want to go to and find your place in line. Avoiding lines is impossible, so go into it with a patient attitude and lots of snacks and you’ll be fine.
Make a Schedule
This is key for SXSW and any festival you attend. Think about why you’re attending the festival. Are you there to learn? Are you there to network? Or, are you just there to have fun? Plan your days around your purpose for the trip. Our team is going to learn tips from the best in the business, so we used the scheduling tool on sxsw.com and can’t wait to see this guest speaker.

Fuel Up
Plan what you want to eat before you go and have a list of restaurants at the ready. No one likes a hangry traveler. We can’t wait to try the famous tacos at Juan in a Million and taste the spicy rubs of Franklin BBQ.
Dress for Success
Most festivals are outdoors, and while a few SXSW events take place inside, Austin spring weather is unpredictable. We’re taking comfortable, yet classy shoes, extra sweaters and a couple of hands-free options for bags.
Reboot
We don’t want to miss a second of the SXSW festival, so we’ll hit the ground running as soon as our plane touches down in the Lone Star State. Researching the best hotels in the area and distance from the festival is imperative to making sure you make the most of your experience. We wanted a hotel that wasn’t too far from the action and provides a space where we can relax and rejuvenate in between events.
Are you going to any festivals this year? We’re taking over @verabradley’s Instagram while we’re at SXSW this weekend. Follow along as we explore the city of Austin and put our planning to the test. See you in Texas!
