On the first Friday of October, the Vera Bradley Coupon Code Foundation for Breast Cancer hosts its annual party with a purpose: Tickled Pink. This year, 425 guests gathered together at our headquarters for a special evening in the name of fun, advocacy and support for breast cancer research. Guests were treated to delicious offerings from local vendors, a silent auction (including a Vera Bradley bicycle) and a tour of our offices. Some of the stops included a photo shoot with our staff photographers and a sneak peek at the Spring 2017 Vera Bradley collection.
“My favorite part of the event each year is seeing our researchers from the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Research Laboratories and our guests mingling and having fun together. It’s empowering our researchers to meet the women and hear the stories of survivors who are benefitting from their research, and, in turn, it’s powerful for our guests to meet the men and women behind the lab coats who are turning their donations into advancements in the fight against breast cancer,” Lynda Houk, Executive Director of the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer said.
At the end of the celebration, all of the guests gathered in one room to toast to raising awareness for the cause and watched as Lynda presented a check for $2.4 million, the amount the Foundation raised for the cause this year. This amount completes $28.1 million of contributions since the Foundation first committed to funding research in 1998.
